The Faculty of Economics has a vacancy as part of the DFG-funded research project “The impact of using AI-powered technology for lie detection in negotiations,” led by Prof. Dr. Joachim Weimann. The project aims to develop algorithms for lie detection, experimentally test their use by humans, and investigate the economic impact of this technology.

Job description:

• implementation of laboratory economics experiments to analyze the use of facial data-based artificial intelligence (AI) in negotiations
• joint interdisciplinary research with our project partner from the field of neuroinformation technology, with a focus on economics
• publication and presentation of research results in journals and at conferences
• articipation in the application process for follow-up projects and the initiation of new project plans

Requirements profile:

• completed university degree (master's/diploma) in business informatics, business mathematics, industrial engineering, economics (especially behavioral economics or experimental economic research), computer science, or a comparable field with a quantitative focus
• programming skills in at least one of the following languages: Python, R
• interest in quantitative, theoretical, and experimental work in the fields of lie detection, artificial intelligence, and human-machine interaction
• high degree of flexibility, independent and integrated solution-oriented thinking, and the willingness to contribute constructively and purposefully to project work
• very good written and spoken German and English skills (level C1)
