Project Coordinator (m/f/d) for the international graduate program NACHOS

We are a university with a focus on engineering and natural sciences as well as economics, human sciences and medicine. We offer excellent study and working conditions to 13,000 students from Germany and abroad as well as approx. 3,000 employees.

We are searching support for the newly established interdisciplinary Graduate School Program “Navigating the Chaos of Innovation and Transformation” (NACHOS), funded by the state Sachsen-Anhalt and the ESF+. The program investigates how technological and digital innovations are managed and implemented in different spheres of society and what conflicts arise in the process. It aims, among other things, to provide impulses for new forms of work, processes and organizational forms, as well as measures to promote the acceptance of (smart) technologies. The focus is particularly on an interdisciplinary approach in which researchers and young scientists from the social and economic sciences work closely together.

We are looking for a coordinator for this innovative and ambitious project. The main focus of your tasks will be the administrative and financial coordination of this large-scale project. Another important part is the organization of various meetings, for example for doctoral students, further training for associated students and symposia with international guests. During the project you have the possibility to conduct related research with the PhD-students and PIs.

Job description:

  • Management and controlling of project funds and resources
  • Coordinating sub-projects, project plans and results monitoring
  • Organizing of regular PhD and PI meetings and other project-related events
  • Organization and active support of international symposia
  • Business trip application and accounting
  • Creating promotional advertising materials
  • Supporting students in structuring their publications 
  • Supporting PIs with applications for future research projects

Requirements profile:

  • An M.Sc. or M.A. in a relevant or interdisciplinary degree program e.g. social science, economics, business administration or related fields.
  • Experience in project management
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
  • Very good knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.
  • Great interest in interdisciplinary research approaches and willingness to collaborate closely
