Postdoctoral researcher (m/f/d) in the field of viral technologies for brain circuit manipulation

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with interest in both basic and translational neuroscience research to join our team at the Institute of Biology. The successful applicant will apply state-of-the art AAV tools for the targeted opto- and chemogenetic manipulation of specific neuron populations and cellular signaling pathways in the mouse brain. We are particularly interested in manipulating specific interneuron populations in the hippocampus, as well as memory encoding engram cells, using both local and systemic AAV delivery. The successful candidate will also investigate the behavioral and molecular changes in the mouse model after the acute manipulations.

Experience in virus handling (including gene technology regulations, particularly S1 level), their stereotactic application to the mouse brain, as well as molecular, anatomical and behavioral analysis of mice is expected.
Additional experience in state-of-the-art molecular and cell culture techniques will be beneficial.
